Next Meeting: May 16

Remember the question about he yucky dinner...? Virtue is forged in such moments.

We survived even great rainstorms at the Giroux's, and it all went quite well. The food was particularly good, so don't let the picture fool you: it's just there because of that one question we had this April.

The questions we talked about, and probably some more which I can't remember now, were these:
What makes a man a good man?
Does the Scapular have to be around you neck for the Scapular promise to apply?
Can the Tridentine Mass be celebrated without other priests or servers?
How can Catholic youth show their way of life to others that are un-familiar with the Faith and God?
Is capital punishment morally acceptable?
(Hilary's favorite) If you mom is emotionally on edge and she asks you if you loved her dinner - which you hated - is it okay to say "yes"?
In the Catechism, it said that chastity is integrity according to one's sexual state. I believe that I have a vocation to religious life. So I'm spoken for in a way, but I'm not "engaged." So what is my sexual state, and thus for me, what is chastity?
I recently heard a pastor talk about the woman caught in adultery (Jn 8) . He said that the expression "let him among you without sin cast the first stone" was not a "judge not lest ye be judged" situation, but rather that Jesus was telling the Pharisees that they sinned by setting him up to catch him and he was only referring to them, not us. Please comment.
Quae consilia homini insequenda sunt ut Fidem servet, dum scientiam physicam late student (sic)?

Ah, yes, always that one question in Latin. And a great question: about faith and reason. The next meeting will be at the Teeter's house, so everyone will have to contact Hilary to get the exact location. That's 7pm on Friday, May 16. Pray for superb weather, in which case we can have our session outside. It will be our last meeting until August 8, when we'll share our experiences at World Youth Day in Sydney, Australia.

By the way, the rest of 2008-2009, we'll always meet on the third Friday of the month, so go ahead and pen the dates into your calendar already.
